5 reasons de be scared for the future of civlization

1. Because the repression of sexual drives, if we are to believe classical psychoanalysis, is at the origin of endemic neurosis and general aggressiveness. So conflicts and the arms race that threaten the survival of humanity today.
2. Because this repression stems directly from morality, and morality is constituted in ignorance of the metapsychic function specific to human sexuality.
3. Because the existential void created by the loss of natural access to the metapsychic dimension, an essential component of human psychic functioning, has the effect of tilting into materialism or religious fanaticism.
4. Because over-investment in things of matter, which the West inculcates in all populations of the world, is the main cause of consumerism and industrial runaway which are increasingly degrading the planet.
5. Because the loss of extrasensory faculties and their daily use induces latent anguish and social instability which contaminate a growing number of nations and make the international balance increasingly precarious.

The survival of the planet and that of humanity have never been so seriously threatened. The ecological disaster, like the atomic peril, mark a new stage in our history: for the first time man is able to destroy his species and his biotope at the push of a button or by poisoning himself under his own waste.

It is urgent to explore all the avenues that make it possible to understand this unfortunate development, and to take concrete action to slow down the movement before it is too late.

However, the most reasonable and the most fundamental way obviously consists in asking to what extent our culture is in adequacy or not with our genetic potentialities. A culture that conforms to our genetic data is necessarily beneficial, while a culture that transgresses our margin of adaptability is by definition harmful. So this is where the crux of the matter lies.
