The Innate Characteristics of Human Being

Human psychism is partly determined by the genetic data of the species. The common features found in different cultures are the living proof of this. For example: all human beings seek food pleasure, so it can be admitted that this need for pleasure is innate. Similarly, all human beings seek sexual pleasure; It must therefore also be admitted that this need for pleasure is a genetically programmed function, even if the means of realization may differ from one form of society to another.

Once this concept of genetic programming of psychism is accepted, and although it concerns only the broad lines of behaviour and leaves a large part to cultural determinism, it is necessary to ask to what extent cultural data are compatible with human genetic data.

In areas where this is not the case, there are frustrations, conflicts, aggressiveness, suicidal impulses, etc. This is where destructive behaviour can be rooted, both socially and ecologically.
