Pro-genetic culture

Cultural relativism would like any culture to be good: what matters would not be the characteristics of a given culture, but the fact that individuals appropriate these particularities and find their identity there.

This view, shared by many anthropologists, neglects the genetic determinism of behavior. Our psyche, like that of animals, is governed by a number of innate tendencies, which cannot be rejected with impunity. Attaching a dog permanently to a chain makes it a dangerous animal. Without a regular walk, his aggressiveness exacerbates to the point that he will bite the first come or bark day and night without any other reason.

There is also a whole series of physiological or psychological needs in humans that require minimal satisfaction. It can therefore be expected that a culture that overprohibits or obstructs these satisfactions will generate psychological, conscious or unconscious disorders. They will manifest themselves by increasing aggression, neurotic, sadistic, masochistic and other internal conflicts leading to behaviour contrary to natural laws.

We will call “culture-pro-genetique” any culture that does not produce psychological disorders in relationships with oneself, others and the environment, knowing that it will have to respect the basic needs and the limits of adaptability of the human being and other actors of ecological balance.
