Psychic Functions and Dysfunctions

It is essential to distinguish psychological functions and dysfunctions.

The natural functioning of psychism, developed and tested over the course of millions of years, is believed to cause little or no damage to the human organism itself or to the environment on which its survival depends. The damage to human health and the environment that must be clearly seen would then be due to malfunctions, which must be identified and explained.

Such a dichotomy is probably not absolute, and it is one of the tasks of ecogenetics to determine to which class the behaviours that cause environmental degradation belong. it is indeed more difficult to find adequate solutions when it comes to human nature-specific behaviours and needs; We can only intervene technologically to limit the damage.

To the extent that it is a matter of dysfunction and false needs, it is possible to look for its causes and to initiate awareness: individuals who know themselves to be victims of certain disorders, whose mechanisms they understand and are not responsible for, can more easily question themselves.

This does not prevent action also downstream, by developing the technological solutions for environmental preservation that are applicacbles immediately.
