Consumerism and Growth
These two irrefragable characteristics of our modern society, le-consumerisme-et-la-croissance, are perceived as a kind of fatal happiness. Without growth, the global economy collapses, and without consumption, individual or family happiness is seriously challenged. In other words, it makes sense for growth and consumption to make us happy. However, the question arises as to why we have come to this point, knowing that growth and consumption condemn us to choose between economic disaster and environmental disaster, without yet bringing us the deep satisfactions to which we aspire. With on the contrary collateral damage such as sedentaryness, obesity, diseases of civilization, loneliness in the crowd, financial burdens, economic crises, inner vacuum…
We immediately see that the whole system is full of contradictions. But how can I get out?
Human ecogenetics proposes to seek the root causes of this amazing evolution. It is clear that the processes of growth, economic crisis and overconsumption are intrinsically linked to the functioning of our psychism. It is therefore in the mental functioning deemed normal that the responsible factors must be hidden.
The question finally arises in a very simple way: did intentions, propensities, apprehensions that we believe ours belong inherently to human nature? Do they correspond to our real genetic characteristics and potential? Or do they result from conditioning and taking positions contrary to our deep nature and contrary to natural laws?
Relevant answers, scientifically based, will help us to better understand what is happening to us, and to build on a rational basis a new life free of conflict and nuisance.
