“The “Grow and multiply” that irresistibly animates humans

The perpetuation of the human species has so far been manifested through our reproductive instincts. It now passes through the mastery of this instinct.

The very biblical “cross and multiply” is no longer on the agenda, given the demographic danger. Unfortunately, it is still present in our culture, and in many more than at home. France is pleased to see a rise in the fertility rate to 2.01 children per woman, just enough to increase the population (supporting immigration) and ensure economic growth. On the contrary, concern should be expressed about an increase in the ecological footprint. Assistance is provided to large families, while a fine will soon have to be paid for each additional child, as a polluter tax is charged to industrialists. There is an immorality of any prohibition imposed on families with regard to their freedom of reproduction.

We are leading to a deeply contradictory system. Moral precepts are made immoral, the rules indispensable for the survival of our descendants are contrary to the ancestral ethic that still flows in our veins, the restrictions that would save the planet condemn us to prohibitions contrary to fundamental freedoms… Are these contradictions inevitable? Do they flow immanent characteristics to human nature? Is it a stalemate specific to the laws of such a blind and inexorable evolution?

It is our primordial instincts that push us to procreate, like all living species, and these instincts would now lead us straight into the wall… There is nothing to exclude such an inconsistency from nature. Genetics that determine our instincts would not have predicted the enditude of the planetary biotope. As so many prophecies foretold, the apocalypse was inscribed in our genes, the original sin condemned us in advance to the ecological impasse, and with us the entire planet…

Two points in this old history can hold our attention: the “cross and multiply” is ordained to us in Genesis after Adam had chewed the apple. It preludes millennia of wanderings and woes described in the Old Testament. So it is not necessarily a good omen. Nor does it say that the original sin stems from our only nature. It took a snake to come and tell the words of temptation to Eve’s ears that the first couple decided to chew the apple. So some external element.

The second remarkable point: this apple affair clearly concerns sexuality. One of the first sanctions was the famous “you will bear in pain”. The demographic overload to which this same sexuality confronts humanity today also appears a form of sufrance, which promises to overcome within a few generations all the punishments that the Eternal of armies could have conceived…

The biblical message, beyond its anachronism and hermeism, could finally put us on the track. The causes of the predicted hell situation could be deciphered in the first troubles of the earthly paradise. Evil would be installed through the apple, therefore through sex. The “believe and multiply,” which one takes as an injunction of the Creator, is more objectively included in the curses uttered by an Eternal irritated to be seen betrayed by his most noble Creature…

Whether or not one believes in the Bible message, the apparent inconsistencies of these old texts are certainly not random. They could denounce the transgression of some natural laws, which threatens to lead to a penalty far more serious than the Flood.
It is up to us to actively seek all the links that may exist between what we call human sexuality and the demographic explosion. Our sexual behaviors do not necessarily reflect the natural functioning of our instincts, but may result from impulse deviations suffered under the influence of culture, morals, or some still obscure factors, which it is necessary to determine once and for all the exact nature…
