Exporting to Third World Countries

With the media available today, everything that represents ease and luxury exports at the speed of light to the last corners of the globe. The phenomenon will further accelerate with the penetration of television and the Internet into the deepest segments of the population. Who would not dream of beautiful cars, state-of-the-art appliances, more efficient computers, and a thousand other sources of pollution when direct and indirect advertising (such as fictional films as well as documentaries) takes us day after day with its incoercible baits?

the average individual’s standard of living on the planet as a whole must be increased more and more rapidly. Until saturation, will say the most optimistic. That is, until all the poor are provided with the necessary, not to say superfluous… On the contrary, the most objective will point out that the planet will be scattered before the tenth of humanity has reached the minimum decent standing…

It is clear that we are going straight into the wall.

Rather than talking about the export of lifestyles, we should say: contamination. Just as we are talking about a disease that needs to be treated and prevented. But there is no cure for the virus of progress. Nothing can stop the desire to have what makes you want, nor the desire to have more than yesterday, nor the desire to have more than the other, nor the desire to want to… And these desires, on a global scale, cause a staggering rise in consumption and resource depredation.

Where would one last hope be to seriously stop the mechanics? It is logical to act on three points: to seek all means to limit the plundering of resources; seek the psychological causes of these desires that condemn us and their contagiosity; research the causes of the demographic explosion.

The first two slots will obviously not be enough: whenever resources are better spent, paradoxically, efforts are made to increase consumers. The more food, the more people can increase. So it’s an endless race. More precisely: a race whose end will be that of humanity and biodiversity…

The only possible outcome is the limitation of births. Or mass extermination if the survival instinct takes precedence over reason. It’s our choice…
