Measures that seriously slow birth

It would already be difficult to obtain a commitment from all the countries of the world to limit the fertility rate to two children per woman. However, it is, to a few percent, the rate that would prevent the demographic curve from flying even higher.

Even in our exemplary France at the beginning of 2013, authorities and media were unanimously pleased to see this rate rise to 2.01 – a witness to vigorous growth.

We still think things upside down. For us, the growth of the population is a guarantee of national health, whereas it must now be seen as a sign of global suffering.

The real challenge is not to “stabilize” demography, but to “reduce” the world’s population, which is another change in mentality!

Knowing that the planet is enough for the needs of 500 million people of American standard of living, and then admitting that the 9 billion we will most certainly be here few benefit from the same progress (evolution that seems inevitable), this even if green technologies were to divide the individual ecological footprint by 6 (and devil if that is optimistic!), we immediately see that we should divide the world population by a factor 3… That is to say, only one child per woman for about three generations to get close to. Even though the planet will have been ravaged by the effects of the overnumbering by the fact that the elderly classes of the population have made the soul…

The problem is insoluble. It faces millennia of reproductive apology. The ramparts that have been erected around a stereotype rooted in tradition and sung in every tone by all religions for thousands of years are not so quickly dismantled. Especially as it is based on a primordial instinct, key to the survival of all living species.

Ultimately, the laws of evolution are now in contradiction with the demands of evolution. Survival of species implies the highest possible reproductive rate. Seeing the pollen clouds emitted by flower stamens, the billions of microscopic eggs released by coral colonies, or the number of sperms produced by a healthy male – something whose increasing scarcity should delight us…

But at the same time, evolution requires sufficient biotope to cover the needs of developing species. In the past, they were able to overflow neighbouring biotopes. While humanity has already invaded almost all of the spherical biotope which is its own, geometric shape finished par excellence. It is also the most depredatory of all predatory species that have existed since the dawn of time. We discover that we are locked in our spaceship, that it is terribly limited and already snacked on all sides.

This situation is fundamentally new. It imposes a radical change in mentality. We can no longer think as our ancestors thought, even our fathers and mothers. We must pass to the end all the conceptions that have been instilled in us, of ethics, of morality, of happiness, of the family, of manhood, of power, of femininity, of motherhood, and many others, without concession, up to the biblical foundations that still pass through souls.

It may be necessary to go back to the depths of our unconscious to uncover all the impulse or cultural structures that attach us to the image we have of human sexuality. The cure for this deadly disease of the planet, which is human proliferation, may well be in psychoanalysis, but in a new perspective that does not tend to merely strengthen the image of normal coitus and the reproductive couple.
