Extending and amplifying population growth

Ecological and agricultural measures aimed at optimising the current exploitation of the planet will obviously reduce the date when resource scarcity will limit population growth. During the time gained, humanity could continue to proliferate, and more and more people would indulge in Western food habits. As a result, needs will increase, land, water and fertilizer will be increasingly needed, deforestation will become increasingly necessary, land will erode, and the environment will deteriorate in the same way as in ancient civilizations.

The difference is that desertification will not only affect small regions such as the Sahara, the Maghreb, or Mesopotamia, but the entire planet. There, as elsewhere, globalization has worked its miracles. This time there will be no use of virgin zones to relaunch the process…

One thus falls into an incredible paradox: the pro-environmental measures, like intensive agriculture, will result in the increase in the number of victims and the worsening of the final situation.

The contradiction arises from the fact that the limitation of nuisances is only a plaster on a wooden leg. We fight against symptoms instead of going back to the sources of evil. The fundamental cause of the overburdening of the biosphere is above all the proliferation of humanity, and this is where we have to put maps on the table.
