What we know today about de-la-genetique, ecology and psychology

These disciplines have made tremendous progress in the last century.

It is now well known that biological and psychic functions are largely determined by the genome. It is no longer possible to reason without taking these data into account when interested in the human condition. Man is not only what culture makes of him, a whole innate basis determines the broad lines of his behavior. Its basic needs, its ability to act and adapt are governed by certain rules that cannot be violated without paying the price.

Great progress has also been made in ecology. Massive awareness has taken place in recent decades, given the damage to the environment caused by human activities. It is possible to scientifically assess the risks of environmental degradation on which we depend and to better predict the evolution of many processes, such as global warming, erosion, salinization, land depletion, chemical pollution of the oceans, etc. Many researchers sound alarm bells.

Psychology has also gone through very important stages since the time of introspection: psychometry, the theory of forms (Gestalt), cognitive, developmental, social psychology, not to mention psychoanalysis (or rather the different schools of psychoanalysis) allow a much more complete vision of human psychism. Today it is easier to highlight and understand individual and social behaviours, going back to their unconscious roots and their biological or cultural origins, especially in what they too often have of negative and destructive.

All these new data have so far not been used in a coordinated way in the search for a fundamental solution to the environmental problem. This is precisely what human ecogenetics proposes. It is a matter of bringing together the contributions of the various branches of science, and especially the humanities, in order to highlight the mechanisms that have led our society on the path of a resolutely suicidal “progress”…
